Hydrogen can help but, depending on how you consider it, there are some challenges to overcome before its use becomes commonplace. On a mass basis, hydrogen is very energy dense, but on a volume basis, it compares poorly to other energy sources, so to move it around efficiently it needs to be compressed to very high pressures. How high, well orders of magnitude higher than we typically see in the pressure equipment we design.
