Ben commenced working with McDowall Affleck in 2007 as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer having spent three years plying his trade at WorkSafe WA. Ben’s time at WorkSafe was largely spent working as an Inspector/Engineer, where he gained a thorough understanding of the Occupational Safety and Health legislation, particularly regarding plant and machinery, igniting a passion for safety.
Since joining McDowall Affleck, Ben has developed his skill set and progressed to become a Principal Mechanical Engineer. He achieved Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status from Engineers Australia in 2012, and is one of the few engineers in Australia registered in the field of Pressure Equipment Verification.
Ben’s has extensive experience in mechanical design and verification of pressure vessels, boilers, tanks, piping and general mechanical equipment. He has also managed the in-service inspection of pressure equipment at both Bluewaters and Kwinana Power Stations.
Ben became an owner in the business in 2009 and has continued to grow his shareholding since then. He is an engaged and active member in the business growth and strategic activities.
